On my way to South Africa!

Greetings and you are blessed highly!

Thanks for all your support to the work of ministry.

Just to refresh your memory, my trip to Guinea and Sierra Leone was a success. The young people were grateful that I made this trip. We had about 90 young people on camp for a week. Though the rains disturbed our outdoors session yet we managed to conduct all planned sessions.

I returned to Accra on the 14th of September. Thanks to your input which allowed me to fulfill the call to ministry.

As I previously mentioned to you, I am planning to migrate to South Africa this year. By the grace of God, everything is going as plan except I had delay my return to Pretoria , South Africa from the end of September to the end of November. This was due to two reasons. Upon my return, my guardian, Fanny Dunbar was in Accra for her regular medical till the 12th of October. She has since returned. Also my host pastor, Rev. A. Z. Smucker’s wife was hospitalized for two week and a half for surgery. I needed to be around to help him out.

I have set my return date tentatively the third week in November; which is from the 18th November to December 3rd. Any date between will do. In other words as soon I can raise the needed funds to travel, I will go.

To fully put into action my plans, I need to raise the amount of US$2,200.00 for roundtrip ticket ($1,200.00) and a four-months prepaid rent (US$1,000.00). [I have already made the arrangement for the home. It’s a semi-furnish apartment, self contained.] As immigration requirement I can not travel on a one way ticket, I will not be allowed entry.

It is in this light I do solicit your contribution and input as I will be filling my papers for residence permit upon arrival.

My personal upkeep and filing expense will be handled personally. While I will believe God to raise fund for utility expenses from he work of my hands.

Furthermore I request our prayers for the work of ministry and the young people for South Africa . I am going on the mission field as a Youth Missionary under Sober Watchman Ministries. This status will be advantageous to me as it will allow me to work without limits with churches of various denominations.

Again, thanks for all your support and input into my life. May God Almighty increase the work of your hands and give you the fullest return of what your have sown in the life of the young people.

I do look forward to hearing form you.

Remain blessed always!

A Liberian Visionary

PROFILE OF DR. NATHANIEL R. RICHARDSON

DR. NATHANIEL R. RICHARDSON
EARLY CHILDHOOD AND EDUCATION

Dr. Nathaniel Reginald Richardson was born on March 8, 1946, at the Maternity Center in Monrovia. His parents were Nathaniel and Edith Richardson. He obtained his kindergarten and elementary education in Monrovia thereafter spending 6 years in school in England. He returned home in 1963 and graduated two years later from the Laboratory High School, renamed Tubman High School in the late 60's.

Dr. Richardson attended the University of Liberia, earned a BSc in Geology in 1971 from the Western Michigan University, an MSc in Geophysics in 1973 from Michigan State University and a PhD from Purdue University, Indiana, USA.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE

Dr. Richardson returned home and joined the professional staff of the Liberia Geological Survey in 1978 where he was shortly thereafter appointed its Director. He retained that post until late 1980, when he resigned to form Geoservices, Inc., his own mineral exploration and water development company. Dr. Richardson is very knowledgeable about Liberia's natural resources and their potential impact on the economic development of Liberia.

During the civil war which started 1989, Dr. Richardson was forced to flee Monrovia like thousands of other Liberians and was internally displaced; first in Fendell, then Bong Mines, and finally at Cari in Bong County where he got involved in distributing food to children and other displaced people.

Dr. Richardson worked between 1991-1992, he served as President of Liminco and again in the same capacity between 1997-1999.

Other significant work experiences include operation of a natural resource exploration venture called Resources Development Company (RDC) with his geophysicist friend, Mr. Cletus Wotorson. Dr. Richardson has also served on the Faculty of the University of Liberia as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Geology.

PRESENT WORK

Dr. Richardson is one of a handful of very successful Liberian entrepreneurs. He is presently President of Amlib United Minerals, a mineral exploration company with mineral properties in several counties.

He is also President and founder of Geoservices Inc. Water Division which drills water wells across the country and Geoservices Scrap Division, which has the contract from the GOL to salvage and scrap the former Bong Mines facilities that were destroyed during the war. Geoservices purchased trains and reactivated the railroad to support its Bong Mine operation. That community is served for the first time by the passenger and freight services it established. Other projects in the area of agriculture are growing seed rice for distribution to local farmers, and plantains and cassava production to start a processing operation. Geoservices is starting a program to stock some of the numerous lakes in Bong Mines with fish for fish farming. In addition to these agricultural programs Geoservices will soon be reactivating one of the two rock crushers in Bong Mines, which were massively looted during the war, to supply crush rock for the railroad and for the construction market in and around Monrovia.

RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION AND POLITICAL AMBITION

Dr. Richardson is a member of the Bethel World Outreach Ministries International. He is married and has five children. In 2003 he joined the Liberian Action Party where he presently serves as Chairman of its Montserrado County branch. He is presently a candidate for one of the Senatorial seats of Montserrado County in the upcoming General and Presidential elections in October 2005.

PUBLIC SERVICE CONTRIBUTION

Dr. Richardson serves on the Board of Directors of several organizations. These include: The Monrovia Bible Training College, Chairman; The Liberian Organization for Good Governance (LOGG), Chairman/President; The National Youth Services & Development Corp. (NYSDC), Founder and Chairman; Mercy Corps, Director; The Liberian Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI), Director and Cuttington University College, Director.

SOCIAL ORGANIZATION

Dr. Richardson is a member of Rotary International, a service organization that meets social needs worldwide. He also contributes monthly to several orphanages in and around Monrovia, several schools and churches in and outside of Monrovia and he also supports a large number of scholarship students attending varieties of academic institutions throughout Liberia.

He is an avid sports enthusiast, having once served as President of the Mighty Barrolle Sports Association and a founder of the Pythons Basketball Team. He was also one of Liberia's best track athletes serving as captain of the University of Liberia track team in 1968.

Dr. Richardson's Philosphy and Vision for Liberia

Dr. Richardson believes that each Liberian has an obligation to work to make Liberia a better place than they met it. He feels that there is no room for "fence sitters", as one is either for progress or against it. He further believes that "no one but us", working sincerely and diligently together will build this nation using the abundant natural and human resources which God has blessed Liberia with. He believes the time has now come when all Liberians must "Stand up for Liberia" so she can regain her dignity.

His vision can best be summarized in a statement he made on March 8th, 2005 when he announced his candidacy for a Montserrado Senatorial seat. He said, he is getting into politics to enable him "to work with others of like values, to right the helm of our ship of State, so that we can begin to govern ourselves in a manner which would bring peace, honor, integrity, respectability, accountability and thereby prosperity to our people, and respect among the community of Nations".

Launching Project "Intentional"

Intentional Living

The Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect example of living intentionally. He was guided and led by purpose. People who live intentionally most often then not, leave behind a legacy. It is our life long obligation to discover purpose,God's purpose for our lives, and intentionally live out the vision we see with our minds. Orison Swett Marden profoundly said,"The man who has learn the art of seeing things looks with his brain". And Napoleon Hill also amplified it and said,"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe,it can achieve". Ofcourse those sound like borrowed words from Proverbs 23:7...."as a man thinketh in his heart,so is he". We are the sum total of our thoughts.

Intentional living allows us to create a mental picture of not just God's intentions for us but the person we want to become, where we want to go,what we want to achieve and the path we want our lives to take. People who refuse or neglect deciding for themselves most likely surrender mental powers to strangers and inevitably loose control of the outcome of who they become. Other people control what they think do or say. We see this epidemically in the youth subculture today. Millions of teens are abusers of drugs because they neglected control of the mental image they possess of themselves. And everything else spirals down. Their lives are altered because they lack the intentional lifestyle that comes from creating a firmament of possibilities which comes from seeing themselves as God intended...to replenish, subdue and multiply.

Naturally we see our limitations and are in fact limited, especially those of us from war torn Sub-Saharan Liberia. However it behooves us to recreate the firmament that we want above us, because "what we think creates".

At Sober Watchman we intentionally put ourselves under the prayer of Apostle John..."Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in good health, even as you souls prosper". Our intentions are predetermined choices. Our choices starts with mental representations of our intentions. Painting those pictures in your mind is the beginning of creating the image. Visualization actualizes.
Today, what are the images we wish to create tomorrow? What mental accentuation have we conceived that could alter our destiny and the people around you?
Remember, "whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve".
"Blessed is he who believes even though he doesn't see".

Sober Watchman Ministries, at the beginning of this year sent out a list of intended projects she wish to bring to fruition so as to strengthen her outreach to young people in Liberia. paramount on that list of images is the construction of the ministries' own office space on her 2 acre plot in Brewerville, westward, outside Monrovia. Currently a former drama team member, who is now an architect is studying the land and wish to emerge with a draft representation of what the ministry intends to construct on the property. Meanwhile the ministry is looking into our entrepreneurial venture through which to generate income for official operations. The complete list of images can be mail to you upon your request.

In the same vein, you can participate in the collection of books,Bibles study resources, office supplies, worship Cds,Drama props, musical instrument, computer, banner, amplifiers and Public Address Systems.

Call 1-262-914-9836 if you intend to participate in the US or call 06-524-711 to talk to the National Director, in Liberia.
